3.6 Class: TEA domain factors (TEA)
Description: TRANSFAC® class description C0024: The TEA domain has been identified as a region which is conserved among the transcription factors TEF-1, TEC1 and abaA. This domain in TEF-1 has been shown to interact with DNA, although two additional regions may also contribute to DNA-binding. It is predicted to fold into three alpha-helices, with a randomly coiled region of 16-18 amino acid residues between helices 1 and 2, and a short stretch between helices 2 and 3 of 3-8 residues.
